CAPTAIN (MISS) OBVIOUS.

*sigh*
There is poverty in the land. It is so highly pronounced, it makes one sad.
To think that there was once a time in this country that poverty was a foreign concept.
Someone once said "The failure of Governance in this country is better expressed in silence than in words". Well, in a way I agree. I mean, we can talk all we want-the way we've been talking since all these days. Matter of fact, I am of the opinion that we like "talky-talky" too much in this country... And big big oyinbo..... (As long as someone is blowing grammar, we don't even want to listen to the CONTENT).
Bottomline: we are all talk, no action.

The average Nigerian family is like a mini Government; providing its own electricity, water, security e.t.c........ Beht why!?

Ok let me come out clean........ Something happened today. Something that left my eyes wide open.
You know, whenever I see all those "UNICEF" programmes on T.V, with all those under-nourished children and all, it used to look very distant. Almost untrue...

But today, I saw poverty in Nigeria. Concentrated one. Forgive me if I sound funny but, I can't go into details (breach of trust) believe me though, there are A LOT of very poor people in Nigeria. (Yeah you can say "captain obvious" at this point)........ If not for our suffering-and-smiling-attitude ehn, smh.

I'm still reeling from the shock of the experience I had today and it makes me feel like every individual needs to be conscious as per social responsibilty.

MY MANY REASONS TO BE HAPPY

These past few days, I have to agree I haven't been the most cheerful person on earth.
But really, its nobody's business if you go about "carrying face" for no reason, or for a reason that doesn't concern them.

Thinking about it, it's almost like I was upset about things I couldn't control all the time and I forgot my many reasons to be happy (matter of fact, I have maaany reasons to be happy and you do too). So, if we look at it from another perspective, staying unhappy is being ungrateful!

One major thing I learnt is; never let your happiness revolve around people.... People change. Never let your happiness revolve around things too.......they fade.

Just be grateful to God, be comfortable in your own skin and be happy with your life. Better be a first class version of yourself than a second class version of someone else.

When it feels like everything is going wrong, just remember your blessings and try to be happy. If nothing more, you owe it to yourself.
